Thank Yous

  1. Mom and Dad- you’ve supported me through everything in my life. Everything that I am today is because of the two of you. Dad, thank you for instilling me with my great love of sports and never once making me question whether there was a place for me there because of my gender. Mom, thank you for being my first and best female role model and the best proofreader on earth. Thank you for always pushing me to be my best self, no matter what.
  2. DJ- big brother, my first favorite athlete, thank you for being cool about the fact that I’m totally Mom and Dad’s favorite (sometimes!). Your support as I embark upon this harrowing journey will prove invaluable.
  3. Richard Fulco, who taught me English 201 in my sophomore year of college, you pushed me to make sure my writing was the best it could be, and to never “phone it in,” no matter what. Also, thank you for occasionally commiserating about the Mets with me.
  4. Andy Parsons, who went out of his way to encourage both my athletic and creative sides. Thank you for never making me feel like I had to pick one or the other, and that in fact both of those things could coexist quite harmoniously with just a little effort and a proper support system.
  5. All of you who read this- seriously, thank you. There is no point to any of this without any of you, and I am proud to have you as readers.
